About EveryMaid

EveryMaid is a directory of cleaning services in New York City. It exists because finding a cleaner here means opening eight tabs, four of which are lead-generation sites that will sell your phone number, and none of which tell you what anyone charges.

This site takes no bookings, charges no commission, and sells no leads. Every listing links to the provider’s own phone number and website. We make money from advertising, which is disclosed on every page where an ad appears.

How listings get made

Provider details are compiled from public sources: company websites, business listings, and published rate pages. A person reviews every listing before it goes live and again when anything changes. Each listing page shows which sources a fact came from and the date it was last checked.

When we cannot confirm something, we leave it blank. A missing price on a listing means we could not verify one, not that the company works for free.

Why there is no overall score

Yelp and Google both rate cleaning companies, and both prohibit combining their ratings with anyone else’s into a single number. Yelp additionally prohibits storing their data for more than a day. So this site fetches each rating fresh when you load a listing, shows it attributed to the site it came from, and never averages them.

A combined score would be easier to sort by. It would also be made up. Two ratings from two different populations of reviewers do not average into a meaningful third number, and every directory that publishes one is telling you something it invented.

What we are not

EveryMaid does not employ, dispatch, train, insure, or supervise any cleaner listed here. We are not an agency and we are not a party to your booking. Confirm insurance, price, and availability directly with the provider before you hire them.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Business owners can request changes or removal at /for-cleaners, or write to hello@everymaid.nyc.
